WALKING TOUR FOR HIDDEN GEMS IN YANGON
After breakfast pick you up from the hotel and drive to down town Yangon to see hidden gems of Yangon.
Upon arrival at downtown Yangon, starts to explore the wealth of cultures and religion on foot.
First, we visit old Synagogue in use of Jewish community, then we will see the old Hindu temples, churches and mosques. In addition, we can see some fortune tellers and street venders along the road.
We will also see over 2500 years old beautiful Sule pagoda and city hall, independent monument in the center of Yangon. Then we pass across the beautiful historical building including famous Strand hotel and end our tour at central post office. Then, back to the car and drive back to the hotel.
Dala is the place to visit if you want to see the other face of Yangon. It is located at the opposite side of Yangon river . We need to take a passenger ferry boat about 5-10 minutes to get to the other side. When we reach, we will be picked up by our trishaw operators. Our trishaw will carry us around the Dala town and stop at many locations like local market, candle manufacturer, gifts manufacturer who makes things out of recycle materials and the last place- Monastic education center where nearly a thousand students and, two hundreds monks and novices study. Trishaws ride will be finished after we visited all these places. They will drop us off at the Dala jetty for our ride back to Yangon. We will take you back to your hotel from the Yangon jetty.
Today morning starts the tour with local market where we can see the wide range of foods and vegetables and typical shopping style of local people in the morning. Then we proceed to train station to experience circular train ride in the outskirts of Yangon city.
The slow- moving diesel train takes about one-hour drive and during that ride, you will have a chance to interact with the local people and interesting to explore their everyday lifestyle in live.
Then we take off at central railway station and return to hotel.
We need to start our Bago trip a little bit earlier than usual; just to beat the traffic. We will leave your hotel at 8:00 A.M . It will take about 2 hours of driving to reach Bago. We’ll make a stop at Allied War Cemetery at Htaut Kyant if we have time, if not, we’ll visit this place on our way back. We’ll go visit the Bago’s Kyaket Wai Monastery for their lunch time(start at 10:30 A.M ) where hundreds of monks reside. After that, we’ll visit Shwe Maw Daw stupa-known as the tallest stupa in Myanmar. Next, we’ll visit reconstructed palace of King Bayint Naung. We’ll stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant. We’ll go visit Shwe Tharlyaung Buddha image and Mon residential area after lunch. When we leave Bago ,after visiting those places, we make a brief stop at Kyaik Pon Buddha Images. We’ll take you back to your hotel in Yangon.
